leftover (cold) in the break room from an interview talk
from NBR; quite tasty. I was more than a little worried; it is very mushroom heavy, and L isn't a big fan. But she said it was even better than the piccatta we had a couple of weeks back.
Walked over to TJ's and picked up some dough, as well as stuff for salad. Made the salad using their 99 cent Italian dressing - went very light, and it tasted good. Also, ate a couple of Fritos and some pineapple slices.
from Urban BBQ. Met up with L and her sister, who were taking a break from Saturday clothes shopping to get a bite. L had ordered the chili cheese fries (impressive, more than a meal in themselves) and her sister, the tortilla salad (which looked surprisingly tasty, less the iceberg). I mixed some of the red with some of the spicy sauce. Good stuff.
from Panera Bread. I recommend it. I didn't get it toasted, but it didn't matter. Got an orange juice; had actually drank some coffee already before heading over. Didn't want to eat too much, since I went to the gym after.
The burgers were made from fresh ground chuck. Dad did a good job, although I think Mom was hopping they would turn out a little less done.
Dunkin' Donuts on the way back home for mothers' day.
At Vidalia south of Dupont Circle. We started with a beet gelee amuse with goat creme fraiche; L said it could use more creme fraiche (which was really good). To drink, I had a mint julep and a semillon from Australia. The bread pudding was almost like french toast. Everything was great. Came to, with tax, tip, and drink, about a C apiece.
Good stuff; made with goat gouda, fresh thyme, the TJ's boxed marinara and some sauteed shallots and garlic.
After, I ate a few trefoils.
